PCC Attestation Process in India

A PCC will undergo verification steps depending on who issued it — the local police, the Indian Embassy or a Regional Passport Officer (RPO).

If PCC was issued by the Local Police

Step 1: Notarization is Important for the PCC

The first step in the entire process is notarization, a formal legal procedure that verifies the authenticity of your PCC. Step 2: SDM / Home Department Verifies Your PCC

A number of applications, such as those for employment, education, immigration, and visas, call for the verification process. For verification, MEA needs a state-approved PCC from you. Your PCC will receive a stamp indicating that it is ready to be delivered to the embassy for final attestation after they have validated it.

Step 4: Embassy Attestation for PCC

The embassy must have your PCC stamped by the MEA and then they will verify its authenticity. They put a unique seal or stamp once everything is in order.
