A notary public must first notarize a few of your documents.  The notarization serves as your paperwork’s official government seal of approval. They verify that everything is authentic and not deceptive. This is crucial for many documents, including power of attorney paperwork, wills, and contracts.

Once your documents are notarized, they are forwarded to various offices for further verification:

• Educational documents include degrees, marksheets, and certificates that are handed to the Human Resource Development (HRD) department. They verify that the institution or college is reputable and that your credentials are correct.
• Personal Certificates: The Home Department in your state certifies birth and marriage certificates. This shows that they are trustworthy.
• Business Papers: Invoices and contracts must be cleared by the Chamber of Commerce. They guarantee that businesses are authentic and follow rules.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) stamp: Depending on a few things, some documents require further scrutiny by the SDM.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) is India’s primary authority on foreign affairs. When your documents arrive, they issue a unique stamp indicating that they are genuine, as are all previous stamps (such as Notary Public, Home Department, SDM, HRD, and Chamber of Commerce). After MEA stamps your document, it is ready for final attestation!

For visa applications, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in Bangladesh is responsible. The Bangladeshi embassy needs to verify the authenticity of your papers. Your documents are checked by the Bangladeshi embassy following MEA certification. You can go to Bangladesh with your documents once they have been stamped!
