The Process Starts with Notarization

You must first take your documents to a Notary Public for notarization. The official will verify your identity and check if the document is real. Not all documents need notarization, but many documents do. E.g., birth certificates, marriage certificates, affidavits, etc.

Home Department/HRD/ SDM/Chamber of Commerce Verification

Next, identify the type of document you have and accordingly visit the relevant department for state-level verification. 

 

  • For educational documents (degrees, diplomas, LC), go to the Human Resource Development (HRD) Department of your state.
  • For commercial documents (invoices, agreements, master data), visit the Chamber of Commerce (CoC).
  • For personal documents (birth, marriage, death certificates), go to the State Home Department (SHD).


Sub-Divisional Magistrate verification is also valid for personal and educational documents.

MEA Verification for Indonesia

Now, you need to submit your documents to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). This is the next step before embassy attestation. The MEA will check if your documents are real and properly verified by state authorities. If everything looks good, they will stamp your documents with the official MEA seal.
