The first step is notarization. A notary public is a government-appointed official authorized to verify the authenticity of signatures and documents.  The notary stamp is given on your document to imply that the document itself is genuine and is not forged or tampered with. Once notarized, your documents head to the relevant department for further verification:

• Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) attestation: In some cases, your documents might need an additional verification step from the SDM before proceeding further. This additional step often depends on the specific document type or state regulations.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) acts as the central authority for external affairs in India. Their attestation serves as the official stamp of approval from the Indian government, confirming the authenticity of your documents and the legitimacy of previous issuing authorities like Notary Public, Home Department, SDM, HRD, and Chamber of Commerce. Once MEA stamps your document, it is ready for final verification.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in Qatar plays a vital role in visa approvals. To ensure the authenticity and legitimacy of your documents, MOFA requires them to be verified by the relevant Qatari authorities. After MEA attestation, your documents are verified by the Qatari embassy. Once they put an attestation stamp, your documents are ready to be used in Qatar.
