Step 1: Notarization is Important for the Birth Certificate

The first step includes getting your birth certificate certified by a local notary. This involves the notary signing and stamping your birth certificate, making it official.A Notary Public is an authorized officer who verifies that your birth certificate is authentic.

Step 2: SDM / Home Department Verifies Your Birth Certificate

The next step is verification of the divorce certificate at the state level. Send your certificate to either the State Home Department or the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) for more verification depending on the embassy’s requirements.

Step 3: MEA Attestation of Birth Certificates

In the third stage, have your birth certificate validated by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in India. The MEA is a national government body that certifies papers on a national level. Their stamp verifies that your prior certificates are legitimate. When the MEA stamps your birth certificates, they are ready for the last stage.

Step 4: Embassy Attestation or Ministry of Foreign Affairs birth Certificate Attestation

Only after receiving an MEA stamp, you can present your birth certificate to the embassy of the nation you wish to migrate to. This phase is critical for visa applications. The embassy will evaluate your document once more and stamp it, confirming that your birth certificate is legitimate in that nation.
