Single Status Certificate Attestation Process

There are 4 steps of verification to get your Single Status Certificate recognized abroad.

The first step is to get your Single Status Affidavit notarized by the Notary Public. A Notary Public is a government official who checks if your Singlehood certificate is real. If it’s genuine, they’ll stamp it.

Next, you need to bring your notarized Single Status certificate to your state’s Home department for more verification. They’re the ones who check and approve all your personal documents, including your Singlehood certificate. Once they verify the authenticity of your certificate, they’ll put a stamp on it, implying it’s good to go for the next level of checking. Sometimes, a Sub-division Magistrate (SDM) can also verify your Single Status affidavit.

In the next step, you need to bring your verified Single Status certificate to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). The MEA is a government organization that verifies your documents nationally. Their stamp confirms that your previous certifications are real. Once your Single Status affidavit are stamped by the MEA, they’re ready for the final step.

Take your Single Status certificate, which has been attested by the MEA, to the embassy of the country you want to move to. This step is crucial for visa applications. The embassy will review your document once more and put a final stamp on it, making your Single Status affidavit valid in that country.
