Step 1: Chamber of Commerce (CoC) verification for GST Certificate
Document authentication usually involves getting your documents verified by the government; but for commercial documents, the process also includes verification by an independent authority called the Chamber of Commerce. This process makes sure that your GST certificate is genuine and valid. By getting COC attestation, you show that your company is trustworthy and follows legal standards, which can boost your business’s reputation. Once CoC has verified your GST certificate, you can directly go to national-level verification.
MEA attestation is an official stamp or seal placed on a document by the Ministry of External Affairs to confirm its genuineness. This is an important requirement for many documents including GST certificates when used outside India. The embassy often requires documents to be verified by the issuing country’s highest authority (MEA in India). This proves to the embassy that the document is legitimate and hasn’t been tampered with.
This is the last step of the process. An embassy is like a country’s official office in another nation. It helps connect the two countries, supports its citizens abroad, and promotes trade and culture. Embassy attestation is important because this process checks if documents from one country are real so they can be used in another country.
