Myanmar Embassy Attestation Process in India

It takes four key government entities to verify your papers to obtain the Myanmar embassy attestation in India.

  • Step 1: Notary Stamp for Myanmar

A notary public is first required to notarize certain papers. This verification guarantees the originality of your papers by acting as a government-approved certification. This procedure is crucial for several documents, including power of attorney forms, wills, and contracts.

  • Step 2: SDM / HRD / Home Department/ Chamber of Commerce for Burma Attestation

The next step is to take your documents to their appropriate departments for state-level verification.

    • Human Resource Development (HRD) department: This government body certifies educational credentials such as degree certificates, mark sheets, and diplomas & is responsible for ensuring that your qualifications are genuine.
    • State Home Department: They validate personal certifications such as single-status certificates, birth certificates, and marriage certificates and determine if the issued document is trustworthy.
    • The Chamber of Commerce: This body is in charge of authenticating all business-related documents such as invoices, company papers, and contracts. with the guidelines and trade regulations.
    • Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM):  In some situations, your documents may be forwarded to an SDM for verification or as an additional step in the procedure, depending on many variables.
  • Step 3: MEA Attestation for Myanmar

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) represents the next stage in document authentication. After receiving approval from HRD/ Home Department/ SDM/ Chamber of Commerce, you must take your paperwork to MEA, where they will sign off all documents. The MEA stamp indicates permission from the Indian government.

  • Step 4: Attestation from the Myanmar Embassy

After receiving the MEA stamp on your documents, present them to the Burma Embassy in India. Myanmar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) has requested that the Myanmar Embassy review your documents one final time. After acceptance, they stamp your documents, making them eligible for usage in Burma.
