Saudi Arabia Embassy Attestation

Saudi Arabia Embassy Attestation Process in India

Your documents need to undergo four stages of verification by the Saudi Arabian consulate.

  • Step 1: Notary Stamp for Saudi Arabia

First, you’ll need to get your documents notarized. This step is important for various documents like contracts, wills, and affidavits. A notary public is a government-appointed person who confirms that your signatures and documents are real. They’ll stamp your document to show it’s genuine and hasn’t been altered.

  • Step 2: SDM / HRD / Home Department/ Chamber of Commerce for Saudi Arabia Attestation

Once your documents are notarized, they undergo further verification.

    • For educational documents like degree certificates and diplomas, the Human Resource Development (HRD) department ensures the institution’s recognition and the authenticity of qualifications.
    • Personal certificates such as birth and marriage certificates receive verification from the Home Department of your state, confirming their origin within India.
    • Business documents like commercial invoices and contracts are authenticated by the Chamber of Commerce to verify business legitimacy and compliance with trade regulations.

In certain cases, documents may require additional verification from the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) based on document type or state regulations

  • Step 3: MEA Attestation for Saudi Arabia

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) is like the main office for international matters in India. When they attest your documents, it’s an official stamp from the Indian government saying your documents are original. They check if the Notary Public, Home Department, SDM, HRD, and Chamber of Commerce have properly attested your documents.  After the MEA stamps your document, it’s all set for the final check.

  • Step 4: Attestation from the Saudi Arabia Embassy

In Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) is important for visa approvals. They need your documents to be verified by the Saudi Arabian embassy to check the legitimacy of your documents.  After MEA attestation, the Saudi embassy puts its stamp, making your documents valid for use in Saudi Arabia.
