Get your documents apostilled in Mumbai for use in France, Spain, Netherlands, South Korea or other Hague signatory countries! An Apostille is a simplified certification process for documents you plan to use in countries that are part of the Hague Convention. For countries outside the convention, you’ll need regular attestation. Think of it as a stamp of approval that says your Indian documents are genuine. This applies to educational certificates, commercial papers, and personal documents like birth certificates. Getting an Apostille involves verification from a notary, and relevant authorities like HRD, COC, the Maharashtra Home Department, and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). We’ll guide you through the entire process!
There are 3 stages of verification to get an Apostille stamp on your document.
Getting a document notarised in Mumbai is an important step for many documents. Think of it like an official stamp that verifies your signature and the identity of the person signing the document. This adds an extra layer of trust, making the document ready for further stages.
You have to visit different departments for state-level verification, depending on your document type:
Sometimes, depending on your documents and visa needs, you might also need verification from the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM).
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) is the final step for using your documents in Hague Convention countries. All documents that you intend to use abroad, need a stamp from the MEA as part of the document legalization process. The MEA will review your documents and, if everything is in order, they’ll place a special stamp on them. This stamp signifies that the Indian government has approved your documents for use in countries that are part of the Hague Convention.
This process requires visiting various government offices on your own. First, you need to get a notary stamp, then verify your documents from SDM/Chamber of Commerce/ HRD/ Maharashtra Home Department and finally take your documents to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) for apostille.
